Con-Dek System – Inclement Weather

Con-Dek: The Con-Dek System is a 1-hour, Class “A” Fire Rated waterproof deck coatings for concrete substrates that offers high durability and low maintenance for exterior use. The system is designed for high traffic pedestrian balconies, roof decks, walkways and stairs where waterproofing and durability is essential. The Con-Dek System consists of .75 oz fiberglass mat, elastomeric resin and a durable polymer cement finish coat.

Criteria for Inclement Weather:

1. Concrete:
a. Concrete Moisture & Vapor Transmission Testing to be conducted, refer to Technical Bulletin (TB-111) Concrete Moisture & Vapor Transmission Testing for mandatory requirements.
b. Primer coat needs to remain GU80 Liquid Admix/Water and add Vapor Prime if certain criteria are met, going over “green concrete”, moisture in concrete exceeds 5%, concrete is supported by a pan system, and “rehab” work where existing concrete had moisture intrusion issues.
Soffit Venting (Recommended):
a. All enclosed soffits shall be vented as to allow for proper ventilation; as per the code. Reference: 2010 Florida Building Code Section 1203, 2006 International Building Code section 1203 and the Stucco Resource Guide.
